How it works

AptResume helps you build a clean, ATS-ready resume in minutes — free, with no account and no watermark. Here's the whole thing.

1. Pick your industry and role

Choose your field and job title — like Healthcare → Registered Nurse or Technology → Software Engineer. Your resume starts pre-filled with a summary prompt, suggested skills, and example bullets written for that role. Don't see your exact title? Start from a blank resume and you'll still get a clean, ATS-ready result.

2. Edit with guidance

Fill in your details. Role-specific prompts show you what belongs in each section, suggested skills drop in with one click, and example bullets give you a starting point you can rewrite in your own words. A built-in ATS check nudges you toward the things that matter most — a dedicated skills section and quantified results.

3. Download free

Export a clean PDF built to pass applicant tracking systems. It's free, watermark-free, and needs no account or email. Want to keep editing later? Download a save file — a small file that holds your resume data so you can pick up where you left off, on any device.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free? Yes. Building and downloading your resume is free, with no watermark and no account. AptResume is supported by tasteful ads and optional Ko-fi contributions — never a paywall.

Do I need to create an account? No. There's no sign-up. You can build and download a resume without giving us anything.

Will it pass applicant tracking systems (ATS)? Templates are single-column with standard headings, web-safe fonts, and a dedicated skills section, and the PDF exports as real text — the format ATS parsers read most reliably.

Where is my data stored? On your device. Your resume auto-saves in your browser, and the only way it leaves your device is if you choose to download a save file or a PDF. We don't store your resume on our servers, and we don't sell your data.

How do I keep editing later? Download a save file when you're done. Next time, load that file to restore your resume and keep editing. Your browser also remembers your latest work on the same device.

Can I move my resume to another computer? Yes — download a save file on one device and load it on another.
